Fire Chief Robert Withrow

Chief Withrow is a 34-year veteran of the fire service with a broad-base of fire service experience encompassing operational and administrative assignments. He has held positions in every rank from entry level Firefighter to Fire Chief. Prior to joining Amador Fire, Chief Withrow was an Assistant Chief with CAL FIRE and in 2006 was awarded the Medal of Valor from the California State Firefighters Association. He is a qualified Chief Fire Officer with the California State Fire Marshal’s Office, has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, holds several Incident Command qualifications, and served as Incident Commander on the Sacramento Regional All Hazard Incident Management Team. He is an instructor with Columbia College and enjoys teaching fire service classes in the local area. Chief Withrow has deep family roots in Amador County and his love for his community is second only to his family. He lives in Jackson with his wife Heather of 33 years and their teenage daughter Holly.
