Prevention Bureau

Tom began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter with the Lockwood Fire Protection District, where he served for nearly two years. During that time, he developed a passion for the fire service and pursued a career as a full-time firefighter.
In May 2023, Tom graduated from the Amador Fire Protection District's New Hire Academy and was hired as a full-time firefighter in October 2023. Through his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the community, he was promoted to Engineer in July 2025.
After several years serving on the engine, Tom discovered a passion for fire prevention and recognized the opportunity to make an even greater impact by helping reduce emergencies before they occur. His interest in proactive fire safety led him to pursue the Fire Prevention Officer position in May 2026.
Prevention Officer Tomlinson is committed to protecting the residents of Amador County through prevention, education, emergency response, and public service.
